Search Industry Canada Spectrum direct search website you should find a couple of records for a Canada wide 700 Mhz P25 Torch relay frequency license to Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic/Paralympic Games,

Folks in N. Alberta report one of the two frequencies listed was used in Fort McMoney earlier this month

I can only assume these will be used for atleast the majority of the relay, they were also confirmed in PEI and Nova Scotia.....only antenna I saw on the vehicles were UHF, and on the local new they showed the inside of the "command" vehicle, and I only saw one radio, XTL5000 W7 I beleive,,,,,

Does anyone else escort the torch ? RCMP, respective Provincial Police ??? I gather the local police would be in charge of the numerous road closures.

What's the signal like on these? Low Power Simplex?

I'll be having them come through the Quinte Region here too around Napanee and I believe Prince Edward Co. on Dec. 15th and through Belleville here as well.

Here's a good map of the route.

Olympic Torch Relay Interactive Map : Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics

It's too bad that I'll probably be at work when they come through, because judging by the map, they're gonna be passing right pass my window.

They'll be in Belleville approx. from 12:44 PM - 1:18 PM

Well the 420.4125mhz won't work for them very well in my neck of he woods as that is a collect channel for a local Passport site.

Both frequencies are currently active in downtown Ottawa.
Most activity is apparently on the digital/enc one. Analog
channel has occasional chit-chat.

I refer to the two 420MHz frequencies first posted. I can
check the 760MHz range but wouldn't be able to give
anything other than a go/no-go if they are digital, assuming
anything is heard.

Torch will be in my area Sunday. I've put in the 700mhz freqs. Anyone know of TG's the OPP are using?
Which 700Mhz frequencies are those...I see a whole whack, are there specific ones
associated with the Torch? TAFL search comes back with 546 entries, mostly 700MHz.

Dave

update: just noticed, Canada-wide Torch Relay 776.006250 and 776.068750 simplex;
766.893750 and 766.981250 duplex with +30MHz offset but no indication of ERP.

A good reference to 700 Mhz frequencies can be found here
2010 Vancouver/Whistler Winter Olympics Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

Which is where I'm assuming you found the frequencies.

I'd program the frequencies mentioned in this thread into my radio for when they come through my area, but I'm working at the time that they're coming through, otherwise I'd have a clear shot of them considering they'd be on my door step.

They are running thru Burlington next Saturday. Should I be inclined and the weather isnt bad I will keep my ears open for comms. I am high enough up in the air with a clear shot at the runners when they make their way west along Northshore to Waterdown Rd.
I might even go out and see it, I did not see the torch back when Montreal had their Olympics.

No, I had seen the RR stuff awhile back but forgot it was there, and went
straight to TAFL. The simplex frequencies are not in the RR record, so
something was gained.

There was some sort of procession through downtown Ottawa around 1500h
yesterday which I only saw at a distance, but could make out police vehicles.
A small plane was circling overhead, which may have been related. Earlier in
the day I noticed the official vehicles parked near the Chimo Hotel (east-end)
including the RBC tractor-trailer.

In addition to 2SURV1, OPP were also using 2TAC04 for torch relay operations in Cornwall. 420.4125 (Analog FM) and 425.575 (Encrypted) were active, but nothing was heard on any of the 700 MHz. frequencies reported earlier. Cornwall Police were also busy on 142.035, but, because they're P25 encrypted, this had little value beyond some traffic analysis.

Anyone listening ? How frequent are the comms on freqs from post 1 ? I got these ones in too from Spectrum.

776.006250 776.006250 CANADA WIDE - TORCH RELAY
776.068750 776.068750 CANADA WIDE - TORCH RELAY

I haven't heard a peep yet other than some TPS mentions of the torch.
