I heard someone have a scanner on recently in a youtube video and heard like a dtmf codeThere may not be a frequency. It could possibly be done via the internet or phone line, are you sure they are doing it over a radio frequency?

Ok just curious. ThanksThat sounds like a signal over a phone line or computer rather than a radio frequency to my ears.
If it was on a phone line or computer then how was the audio recorded? That sounds like a signal over a phone line or computer rather than a radio frequency to my ears.

Somebody with a scanner or radio was next to the siren recording it. There are lots of similar videos.
The OP needs to determine what government entity operates the sirens then find all FCC licenses for them. Look for antennas on the siren pole or equipment box. That will probably tell you what band they use.
Per this website local municipalities run & maintain their own sirens...The OP needs to determine what government entity operates the sirens then find all FCC licenses for them.
How long ago. Fire bells sheriff tone out and siren control was on 155.040 backi in the day as well.Back in the day, 154.995 was used in Racine County by Burlington for their siren control.
Ah ok. CoolThis would of been in mid to late 1990s and maybe early 2000s. I have family down there and often would bring my scanner.

That frequency is still licensed to both the city and county. How long ago. Fire bells sheriff tone out and siren control was on 155.040 backi in the day as well.
So those 2 freqs are the tornado sirens activating freqs? That frequency is still licensed to both the city and county.
