PB, there is NO SUCH THING as a "good" tornado, or a "small" tornado.

There used to be a website that had weather definitions for OK. The site had to be taken down for "political" reasons, but here's one of them.

Storm Spotter: A trained volunteer who works for the NWS to provide "eyes on" confirmation of ground conditions to confirm what they're seeing on the radar.

Storm Chaser: Lunatic that the TV stations spring from the insane asylum, hand them a video camera and say "it's that way", all in the hopes of catching someone dying on tape.

Storm WHACKER: Someone who has to put an extra battery in their car to power all the lights they don't need. Oh, and a Skywarn sticker duct taped to the inside of a window to make it all "legal".

That last one is my addition. The others are paraphrased (from memory) - like I said, the site is gone.

I had a "vision" shortly after reading that last post...something about stones and glass houses and people with HT's and scanners with them at all times in public places. :)

We aren't looking for someone to die - we're looking for good storms. If they all could happen in remote corn fields, we'd be happier.

Here's something that might surprise you - we just observe and forecast the weather. We don't control it. So if you had all the storm chasers sit in their houses and pretend there is nothing happening - MORE people would die because LESS would be watching for a touchdown.

Diarrhea of the mouth again! You just can't shut it can you, you think anything said on this forum is directed to you personally. Maybe if we let you know each time it starts flowing, you can pop a couple imodiam and it will stop. Get over your self, we do not want your input here if you are going to act like a jerk, intelligent posts only please!

Jay made the accusation that storm chasers are looking for people to die... That's so absurd it amazes me that someone would post that on a public forum. As a chaser, I'm going to defend myself and others who provide a critical public safety function.

I'm sorry about that, you are right. Jay, next time you need to replace storm chaser with Rob Dale, he felt you directed that comment twards him as an individual. If you didn't Jay, you should say ALL storm chasers look for that sort of thing while filming. But thats not the real issue is it, your just looking for more confrontation, you feed off it and your getting a big mouth full from us Okies right now. If we have to fill the OK forum with these posts to get you to shut it, it will be worth every waisted minute of my time. Why don't you just save everyone the trouble and leave.
