Global TV Edmonton has put up a request on their FaceBook page for tornado pictures from a tornado reported to have touched down near Sundre AB. Has anyone heard any related comms?

Nope

Not a thing. Mind you I was at work. Even if at home, only thing I can hear from the Olds area is if the hams are on the SARA system. Lived in this area for years and this is really nothing new. We used to call the area west to east of Olds and Three Hills, Hail Storm Alley. Lot of severe storms blow through that area. Especially end of July to early August. I guess that is why they have restarted the Weather Modification program [aka Alberta Hail Suppression Project] again out of Didsbury/Calgary. This generally makes the hail stones smaller [pea size] but causes a lot more to fall. But does reduce damage. I have seen a number of storms start in the foothills. It seems like the clouds just gather and spin for 30 mins then form into a storm cell and move out over the prairies. Never witnessed a tornado touching down, but have seen a number of funnel clouds and down bursts, even been in down bursts. One day it took me over 3 hours to travel from Caroline to Innisfail, a trip that usually takes 45 mins.. Kept running into the hail so would pull over and wait. However, today, people are not that patient so try to keep on driving through these hail storms. I guess they feel that insurance will cover their dented cars and shattered windows. Incidently, 407.550 is listed to the Weather Modification program. And last year and this year, when there is a big cell near Calgary can hear static bursts on that frequency. So did hear it again on the way home at 1800 hours today with the big cell by Cochrane/Airdrie. The last bad hail storm in Calgary that caused hail damage in north Calgary, I didn't hear these static bursts until the cell passed through Calgary. The cell developed quickly over Calgary so I think it caught them by surprise and they didn't seed the clouds early enough to prevent larger hail hitting Calgary.
