Hi Toronto Guys,
I am sure the answer to this question is in here someplace but I just can't seem to find it. The system has four towers, TFS has four Commands. Now if I put all freqs and talkgroups in the same system, will I hear it all, or should I make each tower as a seperate system? Now if the answer is a system for each tower, what do I do for EMS and Police as they don't seem to have the same divisions as Fire?

Use four separate systems
Match the EMS geographically with each system SW with WEST site, and for police 11/12 and 22, 23 DIV
EMS NW with NORTH site , and for police 31,32,33
EMS SE with SOUTH site , and for police 13/HWY ,14 , 51/53, 52, 54/55
EMS NE with EAST site, and for police 41,42, 43

where space permits, add TPS temp ch. 1-16, ETF, Canine to any site and Public Order, Entertainment District talkgroups to the South site.

That is good to know, thanks for the breakdown, big help. Where do I put Toronto Fire's sixteen Dispatch talkgroups? And what in the world are they using sixteen Dispatch talkgroups for?

Toronto Fire dispatch groups ONLY show on the South tower. Why not have 16? On a trunked system, talkgroups are free!

Also, depending on where you're physically at - all EMS talkgroups by default will show on the South Zone, regardless of any radios affiliated to that site. I keep all EMS locked to South, that way I KNOW I'll hear them.

Also keep in mind, Toronto Fire East/North/South/West do NOT correspond to the North/East/South/West tower zones. Generally speaking, you'll never have a problem with using North on North, East on East, etc... - but just because a call is in Toronto Fire's North area doesn't mean it'll necessarily show on the North tower. I've heard calls on West talkgroups show on South Zone only. It's VERY rare, but possible none the less.
