Quick question, (I didnt really get any help from yahoo scanont). Where could I get the divisional maps for TPS. Example, the specific patrol zones etc etc. Similar to the York Regional Police one. Does such a document exist? Any feedback would be great.

Thanks!

It may be difficult to get this map as it is only in the hands of those who work for TPS and they are bound by confidentiality constraints.

I can post a link to the "old " patrol areas. You are probably aware that
these have recently changed slightly.

Still, you could print it and make changes as you listen and have a
rudimentary map until a real one becomes available.

Go back to the original post and notice that besides divisional boundaries,
I_10_92 is looking for patrol zones

For example, the exact area 521A or 431B is patrolling.
The link I provided shows old unit #'s such as 2304, 1401 etc.
The divisional maps are fine, but I believe the new patrol unit boundaries are the precise thing he's after.

Thanks for the input. And yes i was looking for the patrol zones specifically. While listening (mobile) I try and figure our where certain cars are going, and while working I'm taking note of where certain cars are (which areas) buts its becoming a task and a half.

One of my friends on TPS said he would'nt give me the maps until i got off my ass and did the testing. hehe, so I guess its that time eh? Ah well,

Thanks for the all the feedback, and I'll try my best to set up a 'crude' patrol zone map. Stay tuned!

Strangely, the day that I got my first 'puter back in 1997 (ahh cloned 166 celeron) I checked out the various websites for TPS. Most had maps with individual patrol areas.

One of the things I did pre puters was get a tape recorder and key on a frequency (pre trunked TPS). I managed to basically get all the areas that way.

When they first changed their patrol zones, I kept an ear on the radio and plotted as many calls as I could with the patrol zones I heard. It didn't take long to get most of the ones where I listened (32/33, mostly).

There's a nice colour map floating around on Scanont which is (to my knowledge) the correct patrol zones.
