I just wanted to make an obvious note for the CONTROL CHANNEL ONLY setting when scanning TPS. Make sure its ON!!

I took my 396T to my brother in laws this weekend in Toronto (I live in Halton) and couldn't hear a thing across Police, fire, or ems. So much for my scanner demo. I did a quick search online and didn't find a fix. Back at home the next day I found my error and all is working now.

Doesn't really need to be on as long as you program in all the site's frequencies.

Even with it on, it's a good idea to program in all the frequencies anyways.

that also helps in case the CC ever changes to another frequency not listed as a primary or alternate (rare but happens)
