Hello all...I have had this scanner for quite some time and the instruction manual seems mixed up. I just want to learn how to program or receive trunked frequencies for my area. Trenton, NJ (Mercer County). I seem to be hitting a roadblock. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but your county has gone to a P-25 digital trunked system. Your 163 won't work on the new system. A scanner upgrade is needed.

Just to tell the rest of the story, you won't be able to monitor the Trenton PD. See Trenton City Trunking System, Trenton, New Jersey - Scanner Frequencies. Surrounding townships are doable.
