touch screen issues

I did not see anything like this on the forums, if there was I am sorry to bring it up but I need help. when I want to change from one scanner group to another it is hard to do as it seems the touch screen has moved up so to push the top button to change to the group you you picked i have to push right non the edge of the screen above the button and it may or may not change it. sometimes I need to push upper edge many times. it has gotten so bad my finger is too big now, and I need to use a pen with the tip retracted. I have tried powering unit down, powering down and pulling battery. I don't know if I should send it in to Uniden or if there is a fix that I can do.

You didn't tell us which scanner you have, but assuming it's the HP-1 or HP-2, try this at your own risk:

I think the summer heat has cooked my touch screen on my home patrol 2 , it turns on and scans fine but the screen will not respond to touch correctly ( if I hit menu, the channel line locks ) is it worth fixing ??????

if its a HP1 / 2 send it in for repair to uniden , I sent mine in for the same reason $85 dollars later it was like new
