Tow Truck driver with scanner helps Barrie Police find Armed Robbers

Details:
Barrie Police are reporting further information involving the home invasion that occurred at 3:15am, yesterday morning. Police say that the three co-accused followed the two known victims in a vehicle, back to their residence on Craig Crescent. Two of the accused got out of the suspect vehicle and entered the garage, while the third accused drove around in the immediate area. The two accused confronted the victims in the garage, with hand guns and demanded money and drugs. The victims were tied up with duct tape, while the accused grabbed the victim’s money and some personal items, fleeing the residence.

A short time later, the accused was spotted by a tow truck driver that overheard the call on his scanner. The suspect vehicle was followed south bound Highway #400 to Innisfil Beach Road, where Police took the vehicle down at gun point. Three males were arrested and face 31 charges in total including: Robbery with a Firearm, Forcible Confinement, Utter Death Threats, Obstruct Police, Fail to Comply with Recognizance Orders and Numerous Weapon Offences. The suspect vehicle was towed to Barrie Police awaiting the execution of a search warrant.

Who the driver of the tow truck was ....

I hope the cops cut the tow truck driver a break for helping and didn't have
dispatch request a rotation tow ... ick ..

I would hope that evidence was transported by a depatmental tow, rather than by a commercial carrier.
