When I go to record trains and things and visit other towns around Sioux Falls, I lose my recpection with the Sioux Falls tower. I try to listen to canton police/fire/ems but not sure what tower range they are in. Would there really be a way to look that up for what tower is the closest to that? Or just when visiting again, search the freq. feature and record them and try to match the tower by the freq?

Thanks

State, like I will visit canton sometimes and stay there a few days and would like to listen for the fire/ems and things, but I don't know what tower would be the closest to it.

It really looks like Wall Lake 155.70000c 156.01500 157.41250c 159.61500 159.85500 160.15500

Or Sioux Falls 157.27500 157.48500 157.86000c 157.98000 158.05500c 158.11500 158.28000 158.55000c 158.59500 should make it to Canton

I guess I'm not sure what kind of scanner you have but I have a PRO-197 that allows me to store thirty some odd control frequencies, so I can basically get state radio anywhere I travel.

The c on the frequencies above denotes a control channel.

I imagine that you already have these frequencies programmed but it's worth a shot.

It's all here: South Dakota State Radio System Trunking System, Statewide, South Dakota - Scanner Frequencies

But I'm sure you knew that as well.

I wonder if the problem may lie in your antenna system? Are you mobile? And what kind of radio are you using?

Any more info you can provide would be a great help to others who may be reading this thread.

I have a Radio Shack Pro-106, not sure what more info you might need. But then should I just program all the control channel into a tower and just use that to listen down there and see what channel appears or?

Also, is this setup normal to you?

I have turned off Super Track after I uploaded this image.

Yeah I think you should go to the state radio page and find all the frequencies near you and fill up that table.

I'm still on my 4 post probation so it takes forever for a post to go through. I tried submitting a post yesterday and I see it isn't up yet. But while waiting I noticed that you have multi site mode off. On my Pro-197 it is set to roam. Once you get 32 frequencies entered in the list I'd change that multi-site.
