I know this is not the exact forum but I was wondering if anyone had anythoughts or has actually mounted a antenna on a toyota matrix. I do not want to drill a hole in my roof. i would use mounting brackets.

My other half has a Pontiac Vibe. I believe it's a clone of the Matrix. I did end up drilling the hole, but I was considering an angle bracket on the rear hatch. The antenna would then have been bent to be straight up.

I didn't find any other option, and I've installed thousands of radios on hundreds of models. The Vibe is definitely the worst I've ever seen.

How about using one of those splitters that utilizes the existing FM stereo antenna? They can be found on ebay dirt cheap. They come with Motorola connectors, so it just plugs inline with your car stereo and the 3rd leg goes to the scanner.

That will work OK for a scanner antenna, but for a two-way antenna the FM antenna kits are really expensive. He didn't say which he wanted it for.

If it were me for a scanner antenna, I would get one of the suction cup antennas and put it on one of the windows.
