Heard an officer telling serviceside that his radio was going to show up as Robert 1 until the radio tech can get it changed. He got the chief's old car since the chief got a new charger. Also Motorola techs are in town working on the Tulsa System.

Yeah I have been monitoring the City of Tulsa techs daily on their 3 analog channels and it sounds like they have doing some type of upgrade. Whatever it is they are working over time and have had crews at the 61st and Sheridan Tower as well as BOK. HMMM? Anyone else want to give them a listen? They are on...

They have also been known to use digital P-25 comms between each other using the new unidentified talkgroups that start with a 1 and also digital P-25 I-Calls. If you guys want to know what is going on with the City's radio system they will usually tell if you listen for awhile?

One of these techs is the friend who told me about the switchover timeline being before the end of 2006. Tons of over time. He's exhausted and has a long time to go. The the city (or state, not sure which) is up against the deadline of a "use it or lose it" Homeland Security grant for P-25.
I think the lesson here is that the only way to get government to spring into action is to take money (or power) away from them.
