Trading Question

I'm not really sure where to put this, but because it involves Uniden scanners I would believe it belongs here. I'm just wondering is it possible to trade a lower end scanner for a higher end one? For example: I go out and buy a 346xt and want to trade for a 396xt or I buy a 396 and I want to trade for a 436HP.
Is this possible? I see some trading in the classifieds on here so I thought I might be a good idea to look into how this would work.

Just send someone in the classifieds a message. I have a xxxx scanner, would you be willing to do trade + cash? They'll usually come back with a number.
