Greeting,
As some of you know by now I live in Layton, Ut And other know that I monitor the entire spectrum from my shack in the basement, well with that being said, Question: who or what agency is using the 163.2400 MHz frequency... Sounds like the national park service, maybe a uniformed law enforcement agency, but on the federal bands, request any input.. "73"

Sounds like you have an older Scanner that is rounding off the Frequency.

Any PL/DPL??

163.2375 has been the VA Police, out here in the East
Nothing in the DB or WIKI for Utah, but let us know

Keep listening and if Bldgs or Locations are mentioned, that can help out.

the VA lists locations in Utah at

Is there a custom table for frequencies such as these? I'm running Win96 with a Pro 2096 and with the narrow banding for VHF in the works, not to mention having VHF mixed with the UCAN sites in my radio, I'd like to program a custom table to accept the correct freqs without fouling up the custom table I'm already running for rebanding. Ideas?

Don't know why the SO is on this freq. We had some discussion on this subject here

http://forums.radioreference.com/ut.../90995-cottonwood-canyons-so-frequencies.html

and here

Just anouther reason to look around once in a while. Never can tell who you will hear, and where.

Most of the Frequencies would be either 12.5 Khz or 25 Khz

ie:

0000 - 25
0125 - 12.5
0250 - 25
0375 - 12.5
0500 - 25
0625 - 12.5
0750 - 25
0875 - 12.5

The older Scanners round off to the nearest 5 khz

Hope this helps

Is this a custom table? I rememeber someone posted a custom table that worked for rebanding. I understand that the newer scanners read the table differently. Maybe i'm not understanding it correctly. Help!

No, not a custom table. Sounds like you have 800 Rebanding confussed with the standard VHF Gov't channels
