Train collision

Listening to the news this morning (the 22nd) and heard there has been a head on collision between two CSX trains in Southhampton CO. Several injuries, one air evaced to Norfolk. No hazmat according to the TV. However, the State Police spokesperson did say that highway 671 is blocked by a rail car on the road.

Follow on report says the accident is near 671 and 650 to the southwest of Franklin.

Anyone near there with their scanner going who can provide an update?

According to information received via Virginia Fire Net paging, it's a head-on between two trains in the Newsomes area of Southampton County. 2nd alarm struck for tankers and manpower for large amount of fire. Nightengale & Life-Evac helo's dispatched.
