Train Derailment in Noble County

Noble County advising of N&S Train derailment with several train cars involved, no reported injuries at this time. It is located northwest of Ligonier near 900N & 1025W. NCSD on scene,Ligonier FD responding requesting Kendallville FD Haz-Mat to respond also. Two cars derailed with hazardous materials involved.
Radio traffic on SAFE-T TG's 15120 57 FD WEST, 15136 57 OPS 5, 44080 57 LE DSP, and Noble Co. Fire 154.220 97.4 PL.

Topeka FD Station 30 (Lagrange Co.) brought up on standby for Ligonier FD also Cromwell/Sparta Twp FD standing by Ligonier FD's station. Believe I heard that Toluene and some sort of molten product were the two materials involved in the derailment.

Derailment is on the double-track Norfolk Southern line from Elkhart to Toledo. Railfan community is reporting that it was NS train 18M-27 with NS locomotives 2757, 7645, and 9190. Both mains are reportedly blocked. 18M is an Elkhart to Linwood, North Carolina, train.

Additional info:

Freight trains that would normally run on this line are being re-routed on the CSX line through Garrett or on the NS line through Fort Wayne. Amtrak passenger trains are either being re-routed through Detroit or not running west of Toledo with passengers being bused to Chicago. Extensive track and signal damage is being reported.

Noble County Emergency Management Director Mick Newton said the train was carrying molten sulfur and flammable toluene.

Toluene is a liquid carried in tank cars. Molten sulfur is also a liquid (sulfur melts at about 240 deg F) carried in tank cars.
