There is mass confusion on this point. I get tired of people saying they were "robbed" when a burglary was committed. I don't know the laws in Arizona, but in California robbery is section 211 of the criminal code and burglary is section 459. Two different acts and two different laws.

The difference between the two was one of the first things that was drilled into our heads as new dispatchers in training. One call type over the other will generate quite a different response..........

As far as the public's concerned, it probably doesn't matter. Responding police and, ultimately, the courts are the only ones who have to really be concerned.

As a former LEO, I notice the difference.
