Heard this transmission on BNSF's central Oklahoma frequency: "Milepost 395.5, train too slow, repeat, train too slow"

I have never heard this message before. Is it because of the rocking motion set up at a certain speed? The cobwebs in my brain are whispering 18 mph. Am I right?

Sounds like a defect detector.

On UP it will broadcast "Integrity Failure".

A train has to be traveling at least 10Mph for the detector to work properly.

Ok, that makes sense. I was focused on it being a safety warning, not an error notice.

So... it's more like: "Hey, you're going too slow for me to test you."

Yep...

At least thats what I'm thinking. I've never run the Big Nothin's tracks before, nor am I close enough to monitor them.
