It's been a long while since I've heard dispatcher training. They used to do it on VHF A-2. I'm sorry I missed it.

They were running mayday drills on A2 today. Sounds like a bunch of new dispatchers are on the actual in-use channels as well. Every now and then I'll hear a voice in the background telling them what to say. Congrats to all our new dispatchers out there for completing their training and "going live"! :)

Years ago, I signed up for a calltaker/dispatcher course that GCC offered alongside their FD, PD, and EMS courses. Two or three times at GCC and once more at Phoenix College, and every time the course was canceled due to lack of interest. Then they stopped offering it altogether. I guess it just wasn't meant to be for me.
