I'm considering getting a Tram 1180 antenna to use with my dual band radio setup; has anyone had any experience with this antenna?

I have no experience but if you read the eham reviews it has its problems but is still well liked for its performance.

The first one I had, the center coil melted and the antenna bent back 90 degrees. It still worked fine, it just looked weird. My second one I use in a recieve only application. Great performance otherwise.

I will order one next week; they claim they have redesigned it and use new materials to eliminate the heating problem. I'll give it the RF heating test, I run 110W on 2 and 100W on 440. If it survives I will put my stamp of approval on it.
