Just download the data from the 106 into Win500, and then upload that data into the 197.

You can clone one radio to the other should you not have a laptop handy. All you need is a 1/8-inch stereo to 1/8-inch stereo cable. Read the manual, it's in there.

Keep in mind that you will lose the programming of the scanner on the receiving side of the cloning. Using your preferred programming software allows you to keep a copy of the configuration, to re-load, if wanted.

Keep in mind that you will lose the programming of the scanner on the receiving side of the cloning. Using your preferred programming software allows you to keep a copy of the configuration, to re-load, if wanted.

However, if you were to change the recieving scanner to an empty virtual scanner before cloning, you can keep BOTH configurations. All you need to do is switch between the two, if needed.
