Hello to everyone. I was hoping for a little help. I have a Pro-96 that I listen to the state police with. I want to set up my Pro-96 with a system for monitoring the KSP as I travel. I spend most of my time east of I-75 and North of the Daniel Boon/Hal Rogers Parkway. I do spend a little time in the Danville and Stanford area where my wife’s family lives. I know this may seem like a silly question but I am having a problem trying to decide how to divide up the freqs. My travels usually go from Morgan Co. - east to Huntington WV, Morgan Co. - West to Mount Sterling, Winchester, or Lexington, or Morgan Co. - South to Hazard. My first thought was by Post, but according to the radio reference data base many post have freqs repeated in each post. The Lexington freqs are divided into two different posts and Montgomery Co. does not have a KSP repeater. Any advice would be helpful. I am going to use a BC246 for analog stuff, so the Pro-96 is Digital only.

Thanks
Darren

Right here...
On my last trip through Kentucky I just entered all of the frequencies and removed any duplicates, now you can't tell what post you might be hearing if your on the road near several districts, but you will hear allot of traffic.

That Is what I was really trying to do I guess. I spend most of my time along I-64, Between Rowan and FayetteCo. I was also trying to include Lincolon, and Boyle In a bank of their own. I am never on 75 much, But am in the Lexington area often. I would like to see some of your files if you don't mind. kg4omx@gmail.com is my email. Did I make that as clear as MUD?

Thanks
Darren

no problem.... keep in mind they are arragned so folks who shouldn't need to think too much about making their scanner work can push a few buttons and they are listening to new freqs in the area they are visiting.... let me know if i need to translate my abbreviations, sometimes the 12 character limit makes for interesting geopgraphic references...

keep in touch!

Hi UnitCharlie,

I would be Interested in seeing your .p96 files as well. I just came back from a work trip to Greenup Co.

I have family in Johnson Co and so I was commuting over the weekend between Greenup and Paintsville.

I did discover several CTCSS codes for some sites I will provide to you in exchange for seeing your .p96 files.

I also found a couple of unidentifed LE Frequencies I am wondering if you can help me with?

They are 154.0275 CTCSS 186.2 - I copied this full quieting all the way up 23 from Paintsville to Ashland

and

155.79 CTCSS 71.9

my e-mail is kq4z@amsat.org I will send you my .p96 file I use over in Kentucky as well.

Thanks in advance!

Hi UnitCharlie

Trips always begin crossing into Boyd County on I-64 out of Ceredo.

We then go south on US 23 to Paintsville (Johnson CO).

Travel through Boyd, Lawrence and Johnson Counties.
Have occasion to travel to Floyd and Pike Counties as well.
For work I travel on into Greenup Co. as well

Attached is my .p96 file for Eastern Kentucky.

Thanks!
