I am going to bring my scanner (pro-96) with me. Not going until May but I am just trying to get an idea now so I don't have to forget or rush to program it all in right before I leave. Looks to be about an hour and a half layover. I am interested in mainly public safety. So if anyone here could give me an idea what to listen to or have a p96 file it would be greatly appriciated. Thanks in advance.

Ok I was looking at those. On the UCAN system I should use the Salt Lake County site? Just making sure.

Another question is what SLC TRS do I need or do I need both? I see two of them on there. One hasn't been updated since 04 so I am taking it they don't really use that one anymore, or am I mistaken.

Also as far as the UCAN system goes. I am not sure exactly how that system works and what talk groups I would be able to pick up from the airport.

You will be able to pick up everything in Salt Lake County, Davis County, and most of Utah County from the Airport. Trust me on that one......my Pro-95 is in my truck with me all the time out here at the airport.

Just got back from my trip. This was probably one of the most interesting areas I got to listen to on my trip. Anything from a couple having sex in a park (6 units keyed up to go to that call... hahaha) to a unit wanting to get in pursuit of a stolen jeep (a fellow LEO's jeep).

Then they had a Delta flight get diverted into the airport for an emergency landing because of an unknown vibration. Got to watch the units respond for that and listened the whole time. Ended up landing fine and required no assistance from the fire dept.

You know I lived in Dallas (Highest crime in the nation) for 10 years and never heard half of the stuff I do when listening in Salt Lake City. There is allows a lot going on and the systems here are very well defined. With the advent of the UCAN system my only issue is having enough space for all the talkgroups...
