Hi All,
I will be traveling to Dallas the first week of Feb. My Route will be through Clayton, NM on 64/87 then 287 the rest of the way into Dallas. I am looking for FD/EMS mainly, but PD is OK too. if you have a .P96 file that would be great, you can post or PM, but I will take anything anyone has.

TIA !!!

Steve,
Sorry, I don't have a .P96 file, just files for the Uniden scanners (396, 996, etc), & the PSR-500.

For frequency suggestions enroute (especially Tx DPS, the highway patrol), you might look at this thread. Most of the activity in rural areas is going to be done at, or dispatched at least partly through, the county level, generally the sheriff's office. Fire/ems is often dispatched (paged out) on a county-run frequency.

For anything in the DFW area, check the DFWScan Yahoo group. I did see one .P96 file in the files section, but without WIN96 to view/edit, can't tell you how complete it is. You might post a more specific request there (include the approximate area you'll be in) if nobody offers one here.

Depending on where you'll be in the metro area, there's lot to listen to. Outside of Tx DPS, some Fed activity, DFW Airport (almost exclusively Provoice), & two mixed-mode (analog-digital trunked systems, just about everything else is analog. Dallas (city) is conventional Uhf for both FD & PD. Dallas Fire/Rescue active incidents viewable online (except when the site crashes, which is often) here and here, among other places. Since EMS is one of your interests, there are a number of medical helicopters operating in the area, going to accident scenes in outlying areas, or bringing patients into one of the large hospitals in Dallas or Fort Worth from the smaller more rural ones.

If you want a list of what you might be able to hear, advise about where you'll be staying, and I'll put together a list of systems you should be able to hear.
