The Faroe Islands are an interesting place. They have connected most of their islands with tunnels, similar to the tunnels that go beneath many of the Norwegian fjords. I have never been there, but I've wanted to visit there for a long time.
I bet the MW reception is pretty good at night.
FWIW, the US apparently has a reciprocal agreement with Denmark, which also includes the Faroe Islands (according to this document in the website that Global North linked).
I would think you should follow the ARRL suggestion to contact the Faroe Islands national telecom authorities to find out whether the Tech class license would be acceptable or not.
GlobalNorth says that the CEPT countries don't, so that definitely has to be considered. The Faroe Islands are not a part of the EU, but they
are a part of Denmark, which is part of the EU and a part of CEPT. Maybe it would be best just to contact them.
Maybe email their amateur radio organization, too. Most Faroese have some knowledge of English. This mostly blank website has an email icon in the corner.
