Trbo CPS 2.0 Q

Since this CPS 2.0 software is the best thing to ever come out of china and take 4 times as long to program a radio now compared to the good ole days of 16.5
Is there any quick keyboard commands or hidden tid bits to speed things up?

Such as i have ALOT of radio id's and talkgroups in a radio and its such a pain to have to go all the way back to the top, click CONTACTS then +
Is there not a way to add like 10 blank entries at once and then edit them as you go down like the old software?

Same goes for channels. When adding a new channel and im done editing it have to double click back on the zone then select my next channel. Is there no NEXT channel option or even a way to expand that zone and click the next channel in the list?
The Zone window that has all the channels in it sure i can grab the mouse and scroll to the right and then loose my place thinkin gim editing channel 11 but really its 12 and is a HUGE pain to do on a tablet.

Just seems the layout is super stupid and wondering of anyone has some quicker ways of getting stuff done. Im sure i could program 5 talkgroups, 4 rx groups and 15 radio id;s with 5 channels and 2 scan lists in the older software before id even get done adding the talkgroup and RID in 2.0

Did just discover if your on a zone and right click you can hide all the sections you dont need, so KINDA helps with that bit, now if only i could hide all the radio id's already in the radio so dont need to scroll up 22 pages worth on the contact section would be dandy

There are some keyboard shortcuts, but they are not that helpful because the application still takes a long time to register them. It's about the same as clicking. The only time I found the keyboard shortcuts to be helpful is when deleting a lot of stuff from a new-to-you radio.

Copy and paste is what I tend to use often. Many times I have Trbo radios with different options, firmware, or something that prevents me from directly cloning the information into another radio. Clicking on channels, and then pasting to another instance of CPS 2.0, read from the other radio saves me a lot of time and heartache.

Motorola Astro had Migration Assistant, which was not prefect but Trbo CPS 2.0 at least allows for drag and drop copy/paste for many parameters, as long as you are dragging copying dropping pasting from the same level of the tree.

Yes, not sure about CPS, but RM has allowed you to export the Contacts to CSV, add/edit/delete the Worksheet, and then import everything back into a Configuration.

I wish I could use Radio Manager on my network, obscure issue with that in my use case. Would let me conduct Over-the-Air-Programming, and replace a lot of travel across the country.

My employer still uses CPS exclusively, which keeps many radio shops and technicians busy with changes and programming. There are some unique separation of network and radio, even though the radio rides along the network.

Well, RM & RMC will run fairly well as a standalone on a Laptop or Desktop. And you can import and export complete configurations if needed. There are a lot of important features in RM that never made it into CPS 2.0, which was an afterthought, as there was no CPS 2.0 planned originally.

You can do this in 2.0 also but you "copy configuration" then "Paste configuration". We have done this between the 65xxseries and 75zxx series radios as well as between 45xx and 55xx radios. Actually I've done it between the mobiles and HT's also. it's not always "perfect" but it gets the basic stuff in there then you tweak what's left. (scan lists come to mind).

Yes, do this as well. Then QA check it for accuracy. Even Migration Assistant for Astro required a second look to verify.
