Getting tired of all the stupidity.
I'm almost totally uneducated about MotoTRBO radios. Just getting that out of the way first.
I've been given the task of trying to make this idea work for a customer:
He wants a panic button system. Press the hidden button, a radio sends a silent alert to the security group's radio channel.
This is one of those fairly large sized quasi-religious "churches" that the local crowd of people who have a history of making
very questionable life choices tends to gather at. You know the type. There's one (or more) in every city. They NEED security
teams, because of the quality of their congregation.
When the button is pushed, the radio sends ID signals, and the ID numbers are known to the security guys so they know which
panic button location is calling for help.
I've implemented these before, in analog radios.
This time, they want to do it with MotoTRBO. Their selected panic button radio is the CM200D. And they want to do it on a digital
channel. Don't ask me why.
The idea is to hook up the panic button to the 20 pin accessory connector on the back of the radio. It was easy enough to find the pinout,
and I have the connectors and pins to wire that up.
I'm looking for clues and suggestions on how to program the radio to implement this feature.
If by chance it can't be done in TRBO mode, we'll fall back to an analog channel and make it work there. Still could use some guidance on
how to configure the accessory port in software. I've spent a fair amount of time exploring various configuration options and haven't been
able to yet make it transmit ANYTHING via any rear port connections I've yet tried.
Any help on this would be appreciated.
