Hi Guys

I'm new to the Treasure Valley, living in Star. I understand that most law enforcement is encrypted in the area, however I'm wondering what talkgroups/frequencies I should program to listen to fire and medics throughout the valley.

Which agencies handle large wild land fires?

Thanks, Scott

Welcome Scott other than this winter the weather is great....

We have been her 16 years from Alaska.

Yes correct, only a few LE are unencrypted (4) check RRdatabase for various TG's it's been updated

BLM, ID Dept of Lands and affected counties/cities respond to wildfires . Adjacent counties PS ( except CC all LE is encrypted) are UHF/VHF. but reception is of course dependent on your radio, antenna and location.

Thanks for your reply. I keep reading that this is the worst winter in thirty years. Hopefully it will be another 30 till we get a winter like this.

I wasn't receiving any Ada County fire traffic, but it's working now just needed to update the database. Can you give me a breakdown on engine numbers in Ada County? I've seen that the Star engine is 51, what about the rest of the county?
