Two Denver police districts are hosting Halloween parties for children this year:
• District 2 will host its event for children 12 and under from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Denver Police Academy, 8895 Montview Blvd. Festivities include a haunted house, football, beanbag and ring toss. There also will be an appearance by McGruff the Crime Fighting Dog.
• District 6 will host a party for children under 12 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at the District 6 Station, 1566 Washington St. Kids will see firetrucks, ambulances, police horses and motorcycles. Refreshments will be available. Parents also will receive a free child- identification kit.
