This coming Friday November 24, 2017 the municipality of Trent Hills in cooperation with Northumberland County is taking part in a full scale mock emergency training exercise in Campbellford. From what I understand it will be ongoing most of the day and will involve several agencies both public safety and volunteer.

I don’t know many details about this exercise other then what’s been publicized on the county website but I would be curious to monitor the radio traffic coming out of this event. I have all the usual frequencies (whatever I could find in the wiki for Northumberland and a few local public works as well) programmed in my scanner but I can only assume an event of this size would require a certain amount of interagency communication. Dose anyone know any other frequencies I should be looking at in reference to an exercise such as this.

Thanks.

Most will likely be just on there regular frequencies. Whenever they dispatch out a call however though as part of the exercise they will likely mention though it's just an exercise.

I guess it depends on the scenario. If it is a plane crash, the military might be on hand. An explosion may need the gas utility. Hard to say exactly.

Good thing is you have 5-6 days to load up a variety of stuff. :)

From what I understand it is supposed to be some sort of mock natural disaster. Unfortunately I don’t know much more then that. I know they were looking for volunteers to act as victims in a mass evacuation. I would have loved to volunteer but unfortunately work has me preoccupied :(

Ok so now I seem to have a different issue, I don’t want to hijack my own thread but I added the freqs Randy suggested to my favourites list and I also did an updated. I usually use the Sentinel software to add freqs as I find trying to do it on the scanner a bit tedious to say that least. So long story short ever since I did the update on my 436hp every time I hear the local OPP or anyone on FleetNet Zone 2 their transmissions seem to be cut off. I’m catching the tail end of everything but I don’t seem to be hearing the start when there calling in there ID’s. It’s probably more of an issue with the operator then the equipment but figured I would ask anyway.

Yeah, you don't want to p- off the Moderator.

My suggestion would be to edit the Hold Time on the FleetNet system. Default is 0 (zero). You can increase the increments second by second from zero to two hundred and fifty five. I'd start with 1 second Hold and see where you find the "sweet spot"

I usually find that 2 seconds is plenty for a hold time. Both for system and channel.
