• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Does anybody know what frequencies WCYB uses for thier live scanners?
I can sometimes hear Wytheville (VA state police) on the WCYB scanner but not on any of the known frequencies from home.

http://www.scannerfood.com/swvafeed.htm

Im using thier webstream feature now, most of the listeners with Satellite Internet Providers have discovered that it doesnt work with the stand-alone player...

Go to http://www.pirateradionetwork.com/ and click on the link webstream...it uses a java based application and best of all those using the stand alone player can listen as well...

From my standpoint using the broadcaster is the easier thing I have ever done, I cant count the trips to the feed computer 50 MILES AWAY...WHEN GAS WAS 3 BUCKS A GALLON, It prolly sounds like im advertising for them lol

However its impossible to incorporate any intergration or tweaking to the player...like how many people are listening, a counter, or even a sleep timer.....this was one of the neat features i had when using Windows media encoder... If only wme was more stable!!! or if Microsoft had support for thier products!!!
