Where would I find Firestone / Frederick PD's? .. are they on the Colorado DTRS system?
Would they appear under talkgroup 1946 ?
and would i be able to recieve this by entering the Mead transmitter control freqs into my PRO-96.

thanks
Paul.

Yes DTRS, Yes Mead control channel and I think it's Talk Group (TG) 1938.

1938 Weld County Local PD's Dispatch #1 (Southern)
1939 Weld County SO Clearance (Clearance North)
1940 Weld County Local PD's Tac-1
1941 Weld County Local PD's Tac-2
1942 Weld County Local PD's Tac-3
1943 Weld County Local PD's Tac-4
1944 Weld County Clearances
1945 Weld County Law South Clearances
1946 Weld County Local PD's Dispatch #2 (Northern)

More importantly welcome to the forum.

They are going to be under local law south 1946. Heres what I have it programed, with Fort Lupton not included in this as they have their own TGID.

1938 Local Law North
1939 North Clearances
1940 LocalPolDept CH1
1941 LocalPolDept CH2
1942 LocalPolDept CH3
1943 LocalPolDept CH4
1946 Local Law South
1944 South Clearances
1945 Weld Tactical 2
1947 Weld Tactical 4
2000 Pol Dept All Cal

As far as the transmit CC along with mead try the Fort Lupton one also.

765.95625 774.08125* 774.33125* 774.58125* 774.83125*

I get most of Fredrick/Firestone's traffic off of this tower.

And Like Jim said welcome to the forums.

I've heard the Weld County PD TG's off of many other towers, too. Depending on where you are, Thorodin, Buckhorn, Bald, Smokey Hill might also pick up at least the dispatch channels.

700 MHz is not required to hear the neighborhood in Weld County. I should know.

You really don't need toss your 96 in the trash and buy a new scanner to hear the area. The 96 Works fine for everything Weld County and everything you need for the tri-town area is on the Mead site.

The Greeley South site should be receivable in the area as well if you really want to hear all the fun up here in Greeley.

Thorodin, Bald Mtn (Loveland) and Buckhorn sites also provide decent Weld County Coverage as well.

Phil.

As you can tell, I'm a little new to trunked radio systems. So from what you are saying, the various towers are linked .. if Firestone or Frederick PD is using the Ft Lupton tower on talkgroup 1946 then it will also appear on 800 MHz on the Mead tower ?

The agencies that are using dual band radios (700/800) have the ability to affliate on either 700Mhz only sites like Ft Lupton or 800Mhz control channel sites like Mead & Thorodin or dual band sites that have both 700 and 800 freqs like Smoky Hill or Chevron.

I had found last night while listening, that most anything that I hear Milliken, where ever are popping up on the Fort Lupton tower frequency, so you shouldn't have any problems with the mead site, I found this out last night.
