Does anyone have a program they can trim dead air with?

I have about 2 1/2 hours of audio from when our FD's Tanker rolled over and we wanted to listen to the audio but there is probably only about 45 minutes of actual talking.

If anyone can help me out I have 5 audio files.

Try Audicity. I use to use it all the time for that.
I second that.

Audacity works great and easy to use...............just highlight the dead air spots...hit the delete key....export to .mp3 or .wav and you're done.

It's available for Mac, Windows and Linux.

I also use 'sox' and 'lame' on the command line in linux to automate the process for big files, but as far as simplicity goes, you can't beat Audacity.
