Hi and Welcome to RadioReference!

Let's start with the basics:
- What model scanner are you using? Should start with PRO and end with digits.
- Are you using programming software or are you using the keypad of the radio?

No offense but, no one gets paid to sit here answering your questions. There are plenty of resources online to help with scanner programming that you could be searching for, or you could always pay someone to program it for you. Start by reading this from top to bottom. As the title suggests, it's easier to read than the manual.

This is a community of people that love their hobby. We don't monitor the forums 24/7. At the risk of sounding sarcastic: what constitutes an emergency for you, doesn't neccessarily constitute one for us. Some simple fixes to your problem. Get a premium subscription to RR, download the free for thiry days copy of Win97, get the USB programming cable. Import the frequencies from RR into Win97, upload them into the scanner using the USB cable. But, before you do all of this, go to the Wiki for RS scanners and upload the firmware updates into the scanner. There's more to these scanners now than plug and play like the older ones.

Hello ecath, about 5 years ago when I was a scanner newbie, I took someone's advise and downloaded WIN97 from starrsoft dot com and I just can't tell you enough how quickly " the lights turned on for me" and my learning curve shot straight up through the rQQf !!! From the keypad was confusing, once I saw everying laid out on the screen it all starting making sense me. FYI- The RS 20-0047 USB programminng cable is on clearence for $19.97 and like has been mentioned the software has a 30-day trial period, after that it is well worth the $25 for all the help it gives you, not to mention having a valuable backup to your scanners programming. Also, the WIN97 works with many models such as your Pro-163/164, Pro-2055/97, PSR-400/300 sister models. I say go for it and don't mind a few grumpy people as I have found they are far and few between here onn RR. Best of luck to you ;) We all learn from each other and their are some absolutely brilliant scanner hobby folks on here !!!

To the OP:

As pointed out, follow the link to Mark's scanners, the manual there is very easy to read and understand. Also as mentioned, get yourself a copy of a scanner program to make programming your scanner much easier. I used (I want to say) ARC300 from Butel for my 163 and it works flawlessly.

Be patient it takes time to learn new things, and programming this scanner can take some time in understanding, but once you get it down, you'll be programming new freqs in a flash and enjoying your time listening. Drop me a private if you need more info.

Hi ecath, the delay in responses is that your posts needed to pass moderation.
You needed to have over three posts for that to happen, and I see now that you have five so your questions should be posted immediately.

What in Queens are you interested in listening to?
