That would also probably mean a move to DTRS because I don't believe Denver dispatches any VHF troops any longer.

Troop 6b Frisco

Yes 6b Frisco will be dispatched in Denver very soon, Reason is Craig Dispatch will be taking over Troop 4a in Mesa County, and 6b Frisco is going to Denver, rumor has it that Craig will be dispatching CSP Mesa county no later then Jan.06

Waiting for the dispatchers to do their ride-alongs and get their Summit County orientation. Also waiting for CAD to get updated. About the same day that Craig gives up Frisco they gain 4A. So the change also involves the Craig dispatchers going to Mesa County for their orientation. I believe the Frisco cars also need templates for their radios. The microwave to Blue Ridge and Lake Hill has been up and running since last October so that's no longer a problem. The changes don't have to be completed until December so it could be a couple of months yet.

I don't know what District 6 thinks about it, but when I talked with Major King about it he thought it would be great to have Craig dispatching all of District 4.

I agree that it would be nice for Craig to dispatch all of District 4 but as a dispatchers view there is going to be a large learning curve. the thing that is interesting is the call load that was in 6B versus the call load in 4A w/No additional employee's. Getting time to schedule ride alongs to learn the area could take some time. also talking w/Troopers in 6B I not sure they are to impressed w/800 radio's and not to sure they can talk to Denver Dispatch

They have done some testing around the county and appear to have DTRS coverage in about 75% of Summit County. Should be interesting.

Well the Sterling, Greeley, and Limon troopers never thought that they would be talking to Denver for a dispatch center but look at it now. Frisco is a revolving door troop, if they dont like the way the radios work, it wont be long and more than likely they will be somwhere where they will work 100%

Capt Prater has been there a few years but I agree otherwise. Funny they are called the Frisco troop also because there offices are in Silverthorne.

Well Captains usually stick around...within the last 5 years they have had 33 troopers rotate through....uggg...glad i'm not one of em!

One of the Captains there before him, I think it was John Rapp, had three jobs in about a year. He wasn't there very long. It's not like the old days when they didn't move much, but of course there wasn't so many special units then and the Captains were real Captains, not Lt's with the title of Captain so that they can be paid more. The District 6 Captain was there from the day the District was formed until he retired. Of course most of the guys who worked for him thought he should have retired on day two. How many times did he fall asleep in his car along the side of the highway while the dispatchers called and called for him? He mustn't have had an amplified speaker on his Motorola Motrac. And how many years was Joe Relihan District 1 Captain? I think everyone loved Joe. Anyone know if Joe's daughter is still at Arapahoe County?
