Troop E is the following counties:

District 1 Davidson
District 2 Montgomery & Stanly
District 3 Rowan
District 4 Forsyth
District 5 Stokes & Surry
District 6 Cabarrus
District 7 Davie & Yadkin

I work for the highway patrol and try to keep up with the changes.

Yes, I knew you did as we have talked before. Do you know if there will ever be a District 8 for Troop E or will this be all the changes in the forseeable future?

There is no talk of any other Troops in the Highway Patrol expanding districts.

I think the only reason They made a Troop D District 7 (Orange County) and Troop E District 7

(Yadkin/Davie) was the districts were so big that it was too much for one First Sergeant and Secretary to

handle, plus all the wreck reports and other daily paperwork.

I think they were wanting Forsyth County to be a stand-a-long district like the other major cities have.

The communications channels have not changed as of yet.

Troop E Districts 4, 5, & 7 are still on low band channels 9 & 10

Any word on if there will be a new VIPER talkgroup for Troop E Dist 7, or will they continue to keep everyone on the Troop E Dist 4 talkgroup (2736)?

I would say for the time been they will probably continue to use the same talkgroup as before.

I know that Troop D District 7 Orange County is still using the same talkgroup as Troop D District 5 Alamance

They probably will slowly migrate to a seperate talkgroup when the new Viper P-25 system is up and running.

From what Marshall has told me the Viper System is going through some big changes at this moment.

I will be in Salisbury tomorrow and will see what kind of info I can find
