I am presuming you have entered BOTH the base (155.445) AND mobile (154.680) frequencies.
Please note the PL tones which will allow you to listen to the specific area that you mentioned. http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&aid=615

Remember that the mobile units are low power, and not repeaterized.
If you are two or three miles away from the unit you will not receive the transmissions.

Check out this website: http://www.nf2g.com/scannist/index.htm
Go to Frequencies>State wide and scroll down to the State Police area.
Click on the links to the troops, you will find much info there.

Another consideration would be is that last year SP changed some zones around. Troop K now covers further north. It was a small change however it does make some difference.

The frequencies listed in the database for Troop G are correct. It sounds like you have to long of a delay programmed in your scanner. There should be no delay programmed for 155.445 and 154.680. The dispatch transmits on 155.445 and the mobiles respond back on 154.680, so if you have a delay programmed in you will miss the other half of the conversation.

Also, a lot of the Troop G troopers are also dispatched by the County Sheriff. So make sure you have the Sheriff's frequencies programmed in also.

This is true.. You might be missing the replies from the mobile units simply because your scanner isn't picking them up. What type of antenna and scanner are you using? Try an external antenna mounted as high as possible. I am picking up mobile units from over 50 miles away with an external antenna!

The mobiles aren't particularly low powered-- It's more an issue of geography and topography. Troop G covers a rather large area between the Catskills and the Adirondacks, from Massachusetts to well past Amsterdam. So unless you are really high up, the mobiles are hard to hear. But the range is much greater than 2 or 3 miles in any case.

In addition to that, recently I've heard SP Wilton on the Warren County Headquarters frequency (154.725 PL 127.3) polling cars (SP & WCSO) especially for the Queensbury area...so it seems to be going both ways.
