I grabbed the Trunk Frequencies for Troop H for my bsd996P2. I am able to listen to Troops F K and L but I am not hearing Troop H
I am in the central part of the state and would assume I should hear them well

Also I am confused for example the trunk frequencies are
769.20625769.70625770.18125770.90625773.58125c774.53125c
But when I load them into the scanner the last digit ( 5) is omitted when looking at the scanner list or downloading for saving
it only shows 20k not 25k but it seems to work just fine for the other troops i can hear

TIA

The 996P2 truncates 5th decimal place in the display.

Manually tune in the Control Channel frequency 774.53125, and see if you hear the data.

(Hold - type '774.53125' - Hold {do not press enter}).

Verify you can actually hear it from your location. You could also be dealing with some Simulcast Distortion there too.

When you say pogramming . I am assuming I need to add each simulcast group that I want to monitor and then add the TGID for the groups I want to resolve. Am I doing this all wrong and only need to add a single site and then add the TGID's I am interested in resolving.
I added all the troops as a individual P25S system and then created a Group for all the TGID's for CSP and for the other TGID's that are in other counties

If I missed something please enlighten me

TIA

No, that is a Troop K Simulcast voice channel. The image is Troop H Disp 1 Talkgroup being received on the Troop K Simulcast.

You need to first determine if you can receive the Troop H Simulcast Site Control Channel. See post 4.

You program the Sites within a single System and those sites share the pool of Talkgroups that you program in.

OK That is what I have

I guess I just need to verify the ability to receive the control channels I should be fine. I just added all the sites for the CSP. I should only have included the ones I can hear direct thanks

You can add them all but do not include them in scan. That way if you change locations you can turn new ones on rather than need to look up and program them.
Also, keep in mind that each site you can receive and are scanning adds appx 1 second to the time it takes to go through the active systems/sites. So if you have H, K, F, and L as well as Middletown plus some conventional, you will take 6+/- seconds to get through a single scan cycle.

You need to first figure out what talkgroups you want to hear. Then you need to determine through monitoring what sites carry those TGs.

Please try the step I gave above. It will tell you definitively if you can receive the site or not.

Depending on where he is in town, he should have no issues receiving the Troop H site. Simulcast distortion is the most likely culprit or some other programming issue.

Correct, but there's no way to know without doing my test first. I also agree it's likely Simulcast Distortion but he should start with the basic first.
