Major tropo band opening in my area of Kentucky this morning and covering several other states.
Still ongoing as I type this.

Among others I have monitored a LE operation on the frequency of 161.850 P25 NAC 2AE that I can't identify and first time heard, reading off license plates and OL numbers.

Anyone have a clue who this might be?

Probably VA but many of the 161.8500 Sites in RR do not have a NAC listed

I would vote for the TACN system since it's system ID is 2A5.

It's coming in again this morning. Again with displayed NAC as 2AE

It's obviously law enforcement by the nature of the traffic.

I can't tell if the band opening this morning is running down toward TN because the Aprsmennolink site is down.

161.8500 coming in again this morning with tropo band opening to the south into Tennessee from my QTH showing plainly on APRSmennolink website. Some interesting traffic:

Units 6605, 6679, 6649, and 6656 all calling 10-8 around 7:00 AM
with unit 6605 saying "6605, Lt. Prayer 10-8, 62, Troop D".

Went through computer recorded logs on Freescan today this frequency and heard mention of White County (there IS a White County Tennessee) and also an officer said "10-80, I40, 281".

Now we just need to find the site . If someone is close to a D6 site and run pro96com and checkout the connected sites and hear that site you can find it. It will be found NE of Lebanon Tn.
