trouble programming glendale, ca. pd into pro-96

hello everyone, i have a new pro-96 and think i'm doing everything right with trying to program glendale pd(california), using the frequencies given on this site, although i don't seem to receive pd, only certain public service departments...anybody that has info to help guide me would be much appreciated......thanks. c. heyer

Since Glendale isn't in the database, and most of us have no idea what county Glendale is in, what kind of system is it? Motorola? Type II?

Basically it sounds as if you have a few talk groups entered, you're running in "closed" mode, and you don't have the PD talkgroups programmed in. Or you're listening to the wrong system. (Do they have one system for FD/PD and another one for public service?)

Check the frequencies and talkgroups you have entered, then, if they're correct, point us to the listing for the system.

to add to that, check to make sure they are not running encryption. if they are, no scanner will allow you to listen.

Glendale uses the Interagency Communications Interoperability (ICIS) System. It is Motorola Type II and has an Analog and APCO-25 Common Air Interface system voice. It says all PD usage is digital, but doesn't say if it's encrypted or not.
