Are you sure you are hearing a control channel? The reason I ask, is there are two licenses issued for convetional use, both digital (which might be interpreted as a CC) on that frequency which reportedly can be heard in Morehouse Parish or Ashley County. See WPLY444 (Jefferson Co., AR) and WPPE847 (State of LA near Marion in Union Parish).

If it in fact is a control channel, what kind? And if a Motorola, does your radio report the SysID?

its definatly a control freq, i dunno what kind, my scanner wont follow it by control channel tracking, but that only works with motorola II, so its not motorola II.

hmm, well its not either one of those; its not finding anything
I still find it hard to believe it is any kind of control channel since the LSP use it for digital comms in that area. You should take a listen to the various types of digital sounds (including CC's) at Gary Hahn's site and see if you can identify it by ear since your BCT8 isn't doing it. Here is the link:

Do you think any of those are going to be heard in Morehouse Parish?

If you are going to do a search, at least limit it geographically. According to the FCC, only 2 licenses use that frequency that can be heard in either the Parish or County mentioned in the original post. That is not to say that someone may be using it illegally, Nextel is great for that.

We do use that freq but we use it on a GE EDACS TRS here in Iberville Parish. Not a Motorola Type 1.

thanks for all your help, i have found that 860.2125 is the Louisiana State Police Mobile Repeater data freq, this special system is used in an emergency only and the repeater can be set up anywhere. the data freq transmitts 24/7 however, thanks again
