i see from the pics that some people have very nice radio setups, I have a Dodge ram, and don't want stuff int he console, so i will have my radios setup on the hump on the floor between the seats, or i would like to, but it would take me a 100 years to build one of those boxes i see, as i can be handy, but not with woodwork/measurements, so is there any other solution, someone selling them maybe or something???

thanks for any help....

Caesar,

Try this link as well:

http://www.havis.com/

Click on the 'Consolidator' button on the left side of the website. These are for vehicle-specific as well as generic mount consoles. They also sell console faceplates already cut to fit for almost every known piece of radio equipment (scanner, CB, public safety, etc).

If nothing there works look at the attached picture. This is my 780 installed in my Ford Taurus wagon. I bought the console at a local cb/scanner store, just can't remember the brand name. Only cost me about 10-15 bucks!

I'll second the vote for Havis Shields equipment. I am using it in my 2004 Durango and really like it. I got mine from GT Distributors in Austin, but there are tons of places that sell it.

Here is a pic of my console installed:

You can view more pics at http://waltel.com/durango/

Let me know if you have any questions about any of it. I did tons of research before spending the money (about $600 for the console equipment alone!) on my setup.
