While getting on Rt. 295 from Rt. 130 in Burlington County last weekend, I close-called 154.540 MHz on my Uniden. It sounded like someone from the nearby truck stop talking about filling up their tank. Anyone else have info on that frequency for that particular area? I wasn't sure if I was hearing Truck Stop chatter or a frequency used by a bus or trucking company that happened to be passing through at the time.

This website went screwy again on me and posted my message duplicate times. Can a moderator delete the other two duplicates for me? Thanks.

Since he heard on a weekend I would think that rules out the school./ If it was a mobile un it you'd never b e able to trrack it do-wn especially since trucks from all over the country use that truck stop.

Yeah, I looked in the FCC database also and got the same results KB2VXA posted (thank you btw). However, it definitely didn't sound like any of the businesses licensed in that area of Jersey. I believe it's either used as a low power "CB type channel" used by the workers at the truck stop OR a trucking company licensed out of state. I would like to ask anyone who drives through that area on a regular basis to keep 154.540 locked in their scanner and let us know if you hear anything.

It seems when the webite slows to a crawl, your lured into clicking "submit reply" more than once. I know I have. It seems at least on my end today posting messages was unbearably slow. Hopefully LCB knows this and is working to rectify the situation.

Also 154.540 happens to be one of those frequencies almost everyone and their brother has a radio. What are the chances you go back down there and get a hit like that again? Just remember the close call is good for 500 ft or less, really line of sight. So when you get a hit LOOK for radios in use. That's what I would do!

Yes, I agree. However, if that particular truck stop uses these particular radios to communicate often, then a chance of hearing them again while traveling through that area could actually be a good one.

I'm unsure of the name of this truck stop (or if it actually has a name), just the location.

The name is unimportant, the name of the ownership corporation is, see listings 1 & 2. On the other hand there's nothing preventing itinerants from using a frequency, they often operate well out of their geographical restriction if any.

"Whar's theyat dang smokey? Ah cayun't gits channel nahntee-en on theus hyar CB thang!"
Calm down Larry, anything can happen at a truck stop and often does.
