Trumbull County Rumors

I've heard rumors about Trumbull County 911 upgrading Fire systems to all hi-band within the next 6-12 months. They will have 1 dispatch channel (154.250) on a repeater, 3-4 repeaters as TAC channels, and 4-6 simplex channels for larger scale incidents, contacting Helos as needed, etc...

This will eliminate all the archaic low-band stuff.

I'll post more as I hear it.

Seems like many counties have been doing this lately. Having a VHF-Hi freq (listed as new), and they also have a now obsolete VHF-Lo freq (old). Are they just doing this because VHF-Lo isn't "The Thing" anymore?
