Trunked System PDF Printable Reports Rolled Out Today (12/3)

Everyone,

I've made available a new feature for Donating Members Only the ability to generate a PDF printable/downloadable file for Trunked Systems in the database.

Click on the "Print" Icon at the top of any Trunked System entry to dynamically generate the PDF download report.

I'll be rolling this feature out to conventional RR entries over the next few weeks, and more reports etc...

Questions, or comments, please let me know.

And as always, if you aren't a donating member, then you'll miss out on these wonderful value added features.

Tested the feature for the San Antonio EDACS system, and I must say the formatting in .pdf is absolutely beautiful.

LB, you guys again are to lauded for your innovation for forward movement on the databases. Good work, and many thanks!!!!!

and considering how fast these systems keep changing, your pdf will be outdated pretty quickly...

i've always been a fan of PLAIN TEXT myself.. : P

i mean, it's pretty and all, but WHY?

When you print the talkgroups now you worry about pages being cut-off partially and the like, this just "looks" nicer. Whether you print text or print PDF won't matter, they all get changed at the same time ;>

Actually, the reason is so printouts from the site can be properly formatted for a printer, and doing that in HTML is extremely cumbersome, and every browser treats printing HTML differently.

This way, folks can print out system entries (a huge issue of support requests to me) using a standardized process -- PDF.

and considering how fast these systems keep changing, your pdf will be outdated pretty quickly...

It's not my PDF, it's their PDF when they download it. Plus, the PDF's are created dynamically from system data when a print request is issued.

ah, i see now.

well, i WAS having those problems too, until i chose "Landscape" on my printer : )

but seriously - i see how the PDF's can print out "neater" than HTML for archival purposes.

as for the PLAIN TEXT, well that's just a preference for copying and pasting the frequencies directly into scanner software (like the applications from butel.nl and such)...
