WS1040: Trunked won't show

I have programmed the thunked for my county . I am wondering if this scanner encrypted thunked? I also tried the thunked talkgroup and still nothing.

No consumer scanner will listen to an encrypted radio transmission. (You will hear something that sounds like digital garble.)

You will need to be much more specific regarding your county. Since Forums is in a different format, I have not found "where" you live. If you could include this information we "might" be able to help you along.

My scanner is a Whistler ws1040. I can not get the thrunked to work I have programmed them in from the database on here. But still doesn't work.i have the ARC500 software but that doesn't download to the scanner. I am really lost here.

OP, it looks like the only trunked system in your county is Missouri Statewide Wireless Interoperable Network (MOSWIN), and the three talkgroups in your county are unencrypted:

MOSWIN is a Phase 2-capable system, but the database says that only Phase 1 is in use, so your 1040 should work. Do you have the correct control channel and talkgroups programmed into your scanner?

I have programmed all the numbers in to tgrp and it will not come on. I done as the guy did on YouTube video. Do I need to enable anything in glob?

Are you picking up the tower? Can you see the little "T" flashing on the display when you scan the system?

OK, then you're not receiving the control channel. Without the control channel, the scanner won't know what to do.

Below are the control channels for the tower in Dent County (these come from the database link I provided).



The red one is the primary control channel, the blue one is the alternate, and the black ones are backups. The first thing I'd try is manually entering the red one into your scanner and seeing if you get the "T" on the display - this will mean the scanner is receiving the trunking data. If it is, then reprogram the system with that control channel. If you don't get the "T," then try the blue one followed by the black ones. When you find the active control channel, reprogram the scanner with that channel and the talkgroups you want.

I have software it is arc96 but it doesn't copy to the scanner.I have a file with everything.the green light on the USB cable does light up. When I download to the scanner it is on.

You need ARC500 or Win500 to program a WS-1040 scanner.

I have downloaded ARC500 and uploaded all thrunked. And still no T showing. Can you put thrunked and conv on the same bank? Does anything need to be turned on for thrunked to work in GLOB?
