Is the state of WV still working on a UHF Trunked system or did talk of that die???? Steve/KB8FAR

they are working on it.

what i dont understand is the wheeling is going digital in the near future and going 800mhz so they can be compatible with belmont county ohio ( so the rumor has it ) this is supposed to take place after the rebanding is completed in the region. Now if the new state system is a trunking UHF system why would wheeling go with 800? dont understand that one unless they can patch it over some how.

I think your exactly right with the patch idea. Ohio's Marc's system will need to have a way to patch to W.V. interoperabilty system.

Wheeling already had an 800 system-went from type I to a IIi. They are licensed for extra frequencies that would work with Belmont County OH's 800 P-16 system. They have enough cross-river police traffic, and all trauma and cardiac patients mostly go across the river to Wheeling; the hospitals have the analog radios on Belmont' s system anyway. Besides, the Northern Panhandle always has to be difficult with the rest of the state, right?
