I have a glitch with trunker that I have searched the entire weekend to resolve. I have done numerous searches, and found individuals with similar issues, but not sound resolution. I have used TrunkerDM to manage my trunker groups and ID's for the systems identified in my area from the Trunker data. I export all the .txt files for use with trunker. After starting trunker the systems starts without any of the system parameters, but 5-10 seconds later it loads my system file and changed the name of the system and starts to track information based on my system file (ie dec. group names, system names, etc)and begins to record information in the detail log section. Then after about 10 seconds it converts back to an unnamed system and rests the system back to standard values. What am I doing wrong here? Any help would be greatly appreciated..

What type of system are you trying to monitor? Networked, VHF, UHF etc etc. Maybe that'll help to narrow things down...

Sorry about that. I should have included that in my post.

800 MHz Motorola Type II SmartZone.

Thanks,

That is the problem, it is networked. TrunerDM does not use the site files so it just uses the system file and expects it to have frequency information in it. Networked (Smartzone) systems don't have frequencies in the sys file, only in the site (cell) files. The workarouind is this, feed TrunkerDM a dummy sys file, that has frequencies in it. Make all the changes you want to grouips, radios, patches, etc. When you export, only export those files. And don't copy the sys file back to your actual trunker data sub-directory.

Thanks for the fast reply to a slow learner. Do you have an example of a dummy sys file. Here is the information in the sys file I use.

STAR Network
MAP=222??2??
OPTIONS=NVdF
PLAN=8
DESCR=Type II NetWkd 83.72 Hz
THRESHOLD=50
DISPOSITION=fulxsr

Do I need to add frequencies in this file?

Can you provide a little more information on this based on my sys file.

Thanks again!

I think I finally figured it out. At least part of the issue. I exported the files without the sys file. Then I located the 2318C4.txt I opened it up and viola, the files your mentioned. Her is a copy of the files listed.

Star Network
MAP=222??2??
OPTIONS=NVdF
PLAN=8
DESCR=Type II NetWkd 83.72 Hz
THRESHOLD=50
DISPOSITION=fulxsr
v866.4875,26b,ffff,42
av867.9625,2a6,ffff,8
v868.7625,2c6,ffff,1
v866.0500,2d2,ffff,1d1
v866.8500,2f2,ffff,69e
v867.0750,332,ffff,9b8
v867.4500,3c2,ffff,1032
v867.5500,3c6,ffff,c0a
v868.3250,3e5,ffff,7d
d 868.9250,3fd,ffff,0

The only issue I have now is getting the detail log to display the call information.

Thanks again for the help!

Sorry for the delay in getting back, but am packing up to move. As a matter of fact I will be down there with you (yah, returning home!) by the beginning of next month (though will just be moving in.)

I think you are asking how to get the detail to display, I assume you mean full radio ID and talkgroup. You need to be saving (and displaying) verbose. If that is not what you mean, I am unclear as to what you are asking. It does seem as you solved the sys file problem, just remember not to write it back to your actual data.
