Trunker with Windows 98

I am just installed trunker on an HP laptop running Windows 98. If I start the computer in DOS mode, the program runs fine, but not so under windows. The program will start fine in windows, or in a dos prompt, but in either case, only runs for a few seconds, and then the signal strength drops to 0.0% and I get the sig?inv message.

I know all the variables, etc. must be right if it's running under DOS... but it seems odd that Windows will not cooperate. I tried going into the windows registry and changing the power settings on the com port from 01 to 00, but this has not changed anything.

Any suggestions?

i have the same problem running windows 98se on IBM thinkpad,
it likes to change the port settings because some program is hijacking the comm port and cutting off trunker and also ties up the memory..ect,
that is why i run trunker,etrunker ltrtrunk Dos only then it plays nice,LOL

Windows 98 has issues with several realtime digital decoding applications. Running DOS programs in DOS always works better anyway.

Running Trunker under Windows 98

I had a problem with Trunker running for a few minutes to a few hours, then the dreaded "WANT CTS" appeared on the screen, and the program quit accepting input.

The solution has been to restart Windows 98 in SAFE MODE and then run the program.
It has been running for a few days now without any interruption except my stopping/starting the program.
